So I can't believe the kids are finally two years old. We had a wonderful birthday weekend. I really couldnt have asked for more. We are just so very blessed with how generous everyone is to our family. The kids got a ton of stuff for their birthday and can't decide what to play with first. Here is a run down of their big weekend. Friday night my parents came over and watched the kids so Brent and I could go out to dinner to celebrate his birthday. We went with my sister and had a great time. We kept asking the kids what day it was tomorrow and they would say birthday. They thought celebrating dad's birthday was pretty cool so they could not wait for their big day. So Brent got up early the next morning and filled about 2 dozen ballons up with hellium and tied them to our banisters. We took a ballon and woke them up singing Happy Birthday and handing them a ballon. Normally the are hard to get up and around in the morning but they loved getting woken up with ballons.
Once they walked down the stairs and saw the rest of the ballons their heads were spinning. I fixed pancakes for everyone for breakfast. I got them changed into their birthday outfits and then we had our first company. Christi our primary care nurse from the Wesley NICU came over with her daughters and gave the kids some presents. It was so wonderful seeing them and it meant a lot to us that they came by. Then they went down for an early nap. I went and ran errands, picked up cake, decorations, ballons etc. I came home and we got them up and headed out to the party. The party was a blast! We had close to 20 kids there not counting for adults. The people running the party did a great job. Ethan and Emma were all over the place. I tried to put Evan down when we got their and he wasnt having it. So the entire time I had to hold Evan because he would not go down and play. I was so exhausted by the time we got home we fed the kids opened the rest of their presents. They have certain favorite toys...they love the Dirt Devil vaccum cleaner, Firetruck and helicopter (make very annoying nosies) a tonka truck. Nancy and Dennis bought them a jungle gym to play with this Spring. All in all it was a wonderful birthday. We had a great time. Last night Nana, Papa and great grandma Ann came over and we celebrated again!
